This guide shows you how to create a sourcing request and send RFQs to your suppliers.

Ways to start a request

  • Dashboard - Click Request Quotes (the primary way)
  • Anywhere - Click the + button in the top navigation, then select Request
  • Product page - Open a product and click Request Quotes
Press N then R on your keyboard to start a new request from anywhere.

Create a sourcing request

  1. Start a new request using one of the methods above
  2. Choose Product - Search for the product by name or internal code and select it
  3. Choose Suppliers - Your approved suppliers are pre-loaded. Select which ones to request a quote from
  4. Choose request type:
    • Spot Purchase - A one-off purchase of raw materials
    • Blanket Order - A longer term (typically 3-6 month) commitment to draw down on stock
    • R&D Formulation - Discovery of new or alternative chemical formulations
  5. Choose pack type and quantity - Select the pack type and quantity you require
  6. Delivery details - Specify your delivery address and the required delivery date
  7. Additional context - Add a target price, comments, and a specification attachment to help your suppliers provide the best quote
  8. Click Submit

Review and send the RFQ email

After submitting, check that the email is being sent to the right people with the right information. You can see your account manager names - ChemCloud will email each of them individually.

Track your request

Monitor the status of your request on the platform. As suppliers input quotes - either by email or directly into ChemCloud - you’ll see them come in and can compare them side by side.
