Communicating with Your Agent

ChemCloud AI agents work alongside your team — processing documents, answering questions, and keeping your data up to date. You can communicate with them through three channels.

In-App Chat

The fastest way to interact with your AI agent is directly inside ChemCloud. Press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere in the app to open the AI chat. You can ask questions about your data, request comparisons, or get summaries — all in natural language. The AI has full context of your products, suppliers, quotes, orders, and documents, so you can ask specific questions like:
  • “Compare the specs from Supplier A and Supplier B for [product]”
  • “What deliveries are overdue?”
  • “Which products are missing required documents?”

Email

Your ChemCloud AI agents monitor a dedicated email inbox. You can find your email address by navigating to ChemCloud AI → Email Inbox. Forward emails to this address and the AI will automatically process them:
  • Supplier documents (specs, SDS, COAs) — the AI detects the document type, extracts key data, and files it against the correct product and supplier
  • Quotes — the AI extracts pricing, quantities, lead times, and matches the quote to the relevant sourcing request
  • Order confirmations and shipping updates — the AI updates delivery dates, tracking information, and order status
The AI will process most emails within minutes. You can check the results in ChemCloud or ask the AI chat about what it received.

Microsoft Teams

Connect ChemCloud to Microsoft Teams to chat with your data directly from your team’s workspace. Ask questions, get summaries, and receive notifications without leaving Teams. To set up the Teams integration, see Chat with your ChemCloud data in Teams.

Tips for Getting the Best Results

  • Be specific — “Compare the COA from batch 2024-03 against our internal spec for [product]” works better than “check this document”
  • Ask follow-ups — the AI maintains context within a conversation, so you can drill deeper
  • Try to break it — if the AI gives a confident answer about something it shouldn’t know, flag it to your ChemCloud contact
  • Use it for the repetitive work — forwarding documents, updating orders, checking compliance — these are where the AI saves the most time
