What about my suppliers and account managers?

Do I still keep my relationship with my Account Managers? We know that relationships with your suppliers and account managers are important. You rely on them for technical advice and for help when things go wrong. Good news: Nothing changes. You still send POs to your existing suppliers, have the same conversations with your account managers, and maintain the same negotiation power. In the same way your account managers might use Salesforce to send you a quote, procurement managers can use ChemCloud to send and receive an RFQ. Some suppliers are already leveraging our supplier portal to improve the experience their customers have through faster quotes, live order tracking and documentation.

My ERP is the source of truth - do I still use that?

Yes, your ERP remains the source of truth. We have built ChemCloud to work around ERP software - so Purchase Orders, Inwards Goods all still happens in your ERP. Anything procurement-related you do in email, a spreadsheet or on SharePoint - that is what ChemCloud replaces. We have seen many customers go through ERP migrations, and we wouldn’t wish it on anyone. We can integrate with whatever ERP you are using.

How does ChemCloud make money?

ChemCloud makes money in two ways. If you find new suppliers through the platform, ChemCloud takes a commission from that supplier, which is included in the final price you see. These suppliers are marked as ‘Managed by ChemCloud’ suppliers. If you want to interact directly with your existing suppliers on the platform, ChemCloud charges a subscription fee. Based on initial analysis of 25 customers, the ROI on that subscription fee is 5-6x, through a combination of COGS reduction and less FTE dedicated to supply chain

How did we get here and why are we doing this?

Since July 2021 we have been building a platform that allows manufacturers to find new suppliers. Our customers have loved the digital interface, and wanted to use the platform to manage all of their procurement, so that everything is ‘all in one place’. In response to customer feedback, we have built out the software in a way that manufacturers can use it to manage all of their tasks. We have been testing this functionality with buyers and suppliers since September 2024, and we’re now ready to release it to the broader industry.
