# How to edit a quote

> Update a quote after receiving a discount or correcting details

This guide shows you how to edit a quote in ChemCloud - for example, after negotiating a discount or correcting details.

## Edit a quote

1. Open the sourcing request containing the quote
2. Find the quote you want to edit
3. Click **Edit** on the quote
4. Update the relevant fields (price, quantity, terms, etc.)
5. Click **Save**

The adjusted quote is now ready for you to compare or proceed to purchase order.

## When to edit a quote

* You've negotiated a lower price with the supplier
* The supplier has updated their availability or lead time
* You need to correct an error in the quote details
* The supplier has revised their terms

## Quotes uploaded via email

If a quote was uploaded via the AI Quote Ingestor (forwarded email), you can click **Edit** to see a copy of the original email alongside the quote details. Update any fields on the right-hand side if the AI has extracted something incorrectly.
